- Prepare 1 Cup coconut Grinded

In tamil they call it as pala musu. My friend's mom who taught me the traditional mysore pak, told me the perfect recipe of palakkad style idichakka thoran and it turned out very nice. Idichakka Thoran, a popular dry curry from Kerala Cuisine. Tender green jackfruit are cooked and crushed with pestle and mortar and tossed with coconut based spice mixture and finally enhanced with tempering.
Instructions to make Tender jackfruit curry (Iddichakka thoran):
- Remove the skin of the jackfruit.And cut the fleshy part into chunks.
- Place it in a vessel and add tumeric,salt, 1 cup water and allow it to cook.Please make sure that it doesnot get over cooked or mashed.When water gets evaporated remove it from flame and allow it to cool.
- Grind the grated coconut,garlic,green chillies and cummin into a coarse form.
- When jackfruit has cooled mince it with a mixer grinder in turns.
- Keep minced jackfruit into a plate.To this add the coconut mixture and mix well with hands.
- Heat oil in a pan.Sputter mustard seeds followed by dried red chillies and curry leaves.
- To this add jackfruit-coconut mix and mix well.Add salt if required.
- Lower the flame and let it remain for another 10 mins and then serve with rice.
